Garmin 225w Or Magellan 1412 Gps? Please Help!!?

I’m looking for a GPS for my car. I’m trying to decide between a Garmin 255W and a Magellan 1412 widescreen. I would like to get some comparisons from people who have used one or both please. Also, if you can explain the difference between multipoint routing and waypoints, that would be awesome!
I feel like the Garmin offers more features like editing your own maps and uploading maps from MapQuest and stuff, but the Magellan seems like a better (more sensitive) touchscreen and such. Thoughts?

I bought Garmin 255W for my trip to oahu, HI, and am I glad I did. what an incredible piece of hardware. The street names in oahu are almost impossible to remember, spell, recall without getting confused. No worries with this unit. There were a few minor errors but common sense should prevail because it will get you close enough to see your destination. My wife will testify as to the “vacation saving” value of this unit (I tend to get a little edgy when we have navigational problems) We stayed in downtown honolulu so getting a satellite fix was tough from our balcony but once in the car it was quick. Awesome sums it up for me.
This navigator is awesome! Amazon.com offered the best price for this
product. Very happy with this purchase and plan on ordering another! It does everything it claims in its description.

I would definately go with the Garmin. Yes, you are right, the magellan GPS’s seem to have a more sensitive touch screen, but other than that, I beleive that the Garmin is superior in every way.
I wouldn’t spend the extra money on the garmin 760; probably not worth the extra cost for what you get IMO.
Lastly, if you want to save some money, and go with a cheaper (but still pretty darn good) refurbished GPS, you can get the garmin streetpilot c340 for about $122 (with free shipping) from the website listed below.
    Hope this helps.
