Garmin Nuvi Only Goes On Back Roads!?
Jul3
I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 350 (maybe it’s a 360) but it never ever takes me on the interstate. I do most of my driving on the interstate and it’s starting to drive me nuts that this thing will only take me on back roads, even when it’s 1+ hour trips. I live in Wisconsin and a lot of the fastest ways to get places is on the interstate. I have it set on CAR and I’ve tried both SHORTEST DISTANCE and FASTEST TIME and neither will ever take me on the interstate. If I can’t correct it, I am going to return it. Someone help!
I Dropped My Garmin Gps In Water. Can I Send It Back To Garmin To Get It Fixed?
Jul0
If you just dropped it in the water, it should be OK. This is assuming you have one of the outdoor models like eTrex, GPSmap, Rino, or Geko. Most of those are waterproof to the IPX-7 standard, which means they can take being under one meter of water for 30 minutes. If it was in deeper water or underwater for more than 30 mins, you might have trouble.
If your GPS receiver is not functioning, I recommend phoning Garmin at 1-800-800-1020 and speaking with one of their reps. They are knowledgeable and very helpful. I have heard of many people getting warranty repairs or replacements even if the damage is their fault or the unit is out of warranty. You can talk to Garmin and see what they will do for you. If they won’t fix your receiver free, they will likely charge you a fixed amount like $120 to get the thing fixed. Depending on the receiver you have, it may or may not be worth fixing.
Why Does My Garmin Gps Send Me Down Back Roads That Are Totally Off The Wall, Especially On Long Trips?
Jun2
When I take the 300 mile trip from where I live to my parents house I use my GPS to sort of be my little reminder for when to take the left split, right split or whatever, because I tend to zone out while i’m driving. The problem is, no matter how much I mess with the navigation settings, it tries to send me off the highway and on to the “back roads”.
Back Up Maps On A Garmin C330 Gps Unit?
Jun1
I have a Garmin C330 GPS unit that I want to update to the 2009 mapset, but, I want to back up the 2008 set in case of any problems.
I would think that you should just be able to find it under my computer but I can’t, anyone know how to do this?
