Is The The Garmin Streetpilot C530 A Good Gps System?

I want something that costs no more than $250. The Garmin StreetPilot c530 seems like a good choice, right?
I found it for $209 on Amazon.
How Do I Get The My Garmin C530 Gps Unit To Audibly Announce Street Names?

My father owns a Garmin c340, we were playing with some of the settings and found that we could enable his device to audibly announce the street names during directions. In other words, while driving, it would say, “Turn left on Williams Street” instead of simply saying, “Turn left”. I was so impressed, I purchased a c530 because it offered more features. However, I can’t seem to get it to announce street names and can’t remember what we enabled on my fathers unit in the settings. I’m sure it’s possible, but I just can’t figure it out. I’ve updated the operating system and software from the Garmin webupdater, but was wondering if there was something else I need to download. Please help.

Do I just leave it on when I leave the car? or should I press the on/off button on the side? But if I press the on/off button, I have to reconfigure the gps system (set the language, location, time zone) every time I turn it on.

I prefer garmin. I am a volunteer firefighter/EMT and I use the c530 a lot. I can enter any address and get a map up quickly and dependably. I haven’t had any problems with it dropping the satellite signal or anything. I have beat our emergency vehicles to a scene many times, even though they are running a professional, computer network based gps system in the unit.
