I am borrowing a garmin nuvi. I am recharging it. But there is a port on the side, what happens next? I have never used one. There is a picture of the gps plugged into the computer on the unit it self. So do I need to upload a map unto it? My friend forgot to grab the cords to this thing out of the house. Hi everyone,
I just got a new Garmin handheld navigation system. The computer says that I must update the Garmin, and then I must use the computer to check routes, mark waypoints, etc. Major problem: there is no port on my computer that can fit the Garmin USB. Anything I can do, or anything I can buy seperate to make the Garmin USB connect to my computer?

It isnt documented anywhere that it does charge the unit when you are connected to a computer but most of these type of devices do.
If you have any experiacne with this or any documented proof that it does charge I would appreciate it
