I have a Garmin Nüvi and is there a way to update the maps on it without spending 100 dollars on the software upgrade?
I Was Looking In To A Gps System Since I Am Horrible With Directions. Garmin Nuvi 350?

1st up the Garmin brand is good and the Nuvi 350 is not a bad choice either.
Pros: It is compact (imagine a deck of cards), voice-enabled and has a strong GPS receiver and includes lots of travel-friendly features.
Cons: It is expensive, and the traffic receiver and the travel-guide programs cost extra. Also it lacks an external volume control.
I would give it a 7.5.

I’m buying it for my dad. This is his first gps system I wanted to know if the garmin nuvi 225w is a good gps for somone to easily learn how to use and have good features. what features does it have? The pack I want to get is the 2 vehicle/transfer pack it has suction mount and weight mount, carry case and some more stuff. The sale price of this gps is $269 is this a good deal?
Also how accurate is it? does it quickly get and keep signal?
Is It Worth It To Pay $50 Extra For The Garmin Nuvi 200w (rather Than The Nuvi 200)?

i bought my bf a garmin gps for xmas a nuvi 200? hes a truck driver and the store told me “oh of course its great for a trucker driver and online you can downlaod tons of maps for free”!!! haha heres my question where online do you download the maps???? i see clearly on the garmin.com site where you can get the extra software (mostly free) but the maps cost money(like 99 dollars). plus there is nothing for a truck driver. anyone know any sites or links. or better gps out there?
How Do I Get Music Into My Garmin Nuvi 765? Do I Drop N Drag Files?

Ive got a brand new Garmin Nuvi 765 gps for my car. I am trying to download music into it. Ive been attaching it to my computer and opening its folder and dropping and dragging music. Some of the files will play but most are not even recognized by the unit. Am I doing it right? Also why are some playing and some are in there but not playing or recognized. THe unit came with no manuel and I havnt had time to call Garmin.
If you know this unit and how to get it to work for me please feel free to help.

I will be traveling Costa Rica in late November for two months. I am planning my trip now. Me and my buddies will be 4×4, surfing and hiking. We need a good Costa Rica gps map to help us hike through the jungles of Osa Peninsula, find good surfing spots along the Peninsula de Nicoya – start in Malpais then drive up to Tamarindo. I look at Costa Rica GPS maps on line but they are all just turn by turn gps devices. I need something that I can view on my PC to plan the trip then use my Garmin GPS device in Costa Rica to hike and drive on the back roads. I like traveling like a local. I try and stay away from Interstate roads when I travel. Not just turn by turn directions. If anyone know of a place where i can get Costa Rica GPS for us on hiking trails and road Costa Rica GPS map and use it on my pc to plan out my trip then I would really appreciate it! I have a etrex device and a Garmin Nuvi. I am also going to Nicaragua. I doubt anyone makes a Nicaragua GPS. I may just hire a guide. Also if you know of any really good 4×4 rental places then I would appreciate that too!

i own nuvi 260w and i connected my unit to PC and i by mistake erased one file the file was in side the ExtData folder the name of the file was (BIN file 006-D0952-04) there were total of 4 BIN files now there are 3. Do these files have any importance to my unit or are they there for nothing? i cant restore the file anymore. any help? Thanks.
